The Best 90 inch TV

by Luke Conner

If you’re a big TV person with deep pockets, it’s hard not to get excited about the latest and greatest model. But in all honestly, when your goal is getting the most bang for your buck can’t help but feel like more of an uphill battle than before, given that we’ve got competing technologies on our hands here.

The newest technology in TVs has evolved to be so advanced that you might not even notice the difference between a low-end and high-end model. However, with all of today’s new content formats on television, such as 4K resolution and HDR 10+, there are many advantages when it comes to TV quality.

In our testing, we took five large-screen models by different manufacturers for their real-life performance over three major features: Resolution (4k), Color Reproduction (HDR10+), Smart Apps & Services(Vizio).

A lot of people are looking to upgrade their TVs, so it’s natural that you’re thinking about buying a new one. Before making any decisions on what TV to buy, we have compiled our Ultimate Buying Guide for 90 Inch TVs and included all the information needed to make an informed decision as well as provide insight into some popular brands at different price points.

SAMSUNG Neo QLED QN90A Series

SAMSUNG 65-Inch Class Neo QLED 4K UHD QN90A Series Mini LED Quantum HDR 32x, Object Tracking Sound+, Ultra Viewing Angle, Smart TV with Alexa Built-In (QN65QN90AAFXZA, 2021 Model), Titan Black

We just got our hands on the new Samsung QN90A. It’s a 4K release that will give you one of the most immersive TV experiences yet!

The QN90A is one of Samsung’s latest 4K TVs, and it seems to have all the features that make a true flagship TV. This means in addition to having new mini LED backlights with several hundred zones, this model also has an updated Neo Quantum Processor for better picture quality, supports HDR10 and HLG formats, as well as 120Hz panels, which ensures smooth motion performance.

The Tizen OS version on offer here is 2021. Still, there are some improvements from last year’s models, including more extensive smart functionality like voice control over your favorite streaming service or even controlling other household devices via Bluetooth.

Samsung is fighting back against LG dominance by adding a new mini LED in their 4K releases. Samsung has been trying to push this technology only for 8k TVs. Still, it seems that they are now also starting to put these LEDs into the lower quality TV like those that have a resolution of 4000 pixels and less. The question remains if these tiny lights will be able to create an intense enough light display when up against OLED displays, which produce deep blacks with high contrast ratios.

Design

Samsung has taken a major leap forward in their design for the QN90A by coming out with what they call NeoSlim Design. This comes down to one thing: it does not have as much of an impact on your wall space when hung up because its panel thickness is only 1.06″ (2.7 cm). That’s right!

And you know, this doesn’t change anything about how great the screen looks. Instead, it just makes everything better and more aesthetically pleasing so people can enjoy it without having such a huge piece stuck onto their walls or ceiling like those older models from Samsung did before them.

Video Quality

There has been much speculation on what the update to Samsung’s Quantum Processor 4K is. One of the more prominent rumors mentions that this year’s processor will feature a new technology, Neo QLEDS, with advanced features such as AI and an updated Ambient Mode for upstanding performance in all-terrain conditions.

More: The Best Outdoor Projectors

This new Neo Quantum Processor from Samsung can use up to 16 different neural network models, each trained in AI. This way, the processor can optimize picture quality regardless of input quality and produce 4K output pictures without being given a whole lot of information. It’s no surprise that it sounds like marketing material, though – we’re used to hearing this kind for processors at all.

Lighting technology

The QN90A is the world’s first LCD TV to use quantum mini LEDs. The major advantage of Quantum Mini LED backlights are that they have 1/40th the height of a conventional light, which means more efficient and precise distribution without blooming or other problems like with previous systems.

Contrasting the traditional bulky FALD TVs with a thicker panel, this slim LED 90 inch TV features its own mini LED array to promote better light control. The inclusion of these tiny LEDs is beneficial in combating blooming and helps to make it slimmer without compromising on quality.

Brightness / Contrast

The QN90A’s new backlight is bright and clear, but the numbers show that it still has room to improve. This first generation of LED mini-technology may be a breakthrough in backlighting tech, or so I thought until I saw contrast levels underwhelming me yet again!

From what they tell me, this 90 inch TV boasts VA technology for good quality pictures with an Ultra Viewing Angle (UVA), which leaves something to desire since its local dimming system isn’t doing much other than looking cool on my computer screen.

Audio Quality

The QN90A is just as good in the audio department, with a 4.2.2 channels system and 60-watt power rating for your viewing pleasure! The included speakers provide clear dialogue and sound separation that can be heard from all angles – even width or height if you want to get technical about it. We’re not surprised because we’ve seen this Object Tracking Sound+ before; our opinion of it remains unchanged: amazing!

SAMSUNG 85-Inch Class QLED Q70A

samsung QLED Q70A

Samsung is back in the game with its Q70A series, delivering a new balance of performance and features. The arrival of their Neo-QLEDs has forced them to be more competitive against other companies’ top models by offering mid-tier options that still deliver on quality without compromising price!

The Samsung Q70A is one of the best TVs we’ve seen so far this year. It’s got excellent picture quality and plenty to offer in terms of audio performance as well, making it a great deal if you don’t have an issue with its price point.

The Q70A has a strong mix of advanced and toned-down features, which makes it difficult to find its own niche in the market. With four sizes available, Samsung is still backing this model but with limited success during these early stages. Buyers are undecided about whether they should go for something better or cheaper depending on their needs.

The Q70A has a 100/120Hz VA panel with a Dual LED backlight system, making it the last TV down the ladder to get Quantum Processor 4K. It is also cheaper than other Samsung 90 inch TVs. It comes equipped with only one HDMI 2.1 port while coming loaded with game-centric features like OTS Lite audio for immersive sound quality and 2022 Tizen smart TV platform that provides all you need in terms of online functionality alongside an improved AirSlim design perfect for wall mounting or on furniture.

Design

Samsung has always been good at making TVs that look beautiful, and the Q70A is no exception. This 90 inch TV’s thinness means you can wall mount it without any issues. Still, with a thickness of just 1.10″ (2.8 cm), they’ve really made this an attractive option for anyone who likes to watch their movies or shows on the go via mobile devices like tablets or smartphones because its size makes them easily accessible in your bag!

Plus, since it barely protrudes from the surface thanks to its slim design, there are none of those ugly edges blocking out your entertainment which might be great if you’re watching something suspenseful while waiting patiently as well – less chance someone will walk into view ruining all that tension we so carefully built.

Video Quality

The Q70A is the last of four TVs in this year’s lineup to use the Quantum Processor 4K that we had previously seen in 2020’s models, including the Q80T and Q70T. The other two are both lightweights:

One uses a lighter version of this chip with less AI-enhanced capabilities than our model here today-namely, just image quality enhancements like upscaling engine optimization for textures (think about how you can still see wrinkles on your grandma’s face when she smiles) or edges (the lines where one color meets another)–and an audio system without any artificial intelligence whatsoever.

Best 90 inch TV

Lighting technology

The Q70A may not be the most luxurious of Samsung’s new lineup, but when it comes to its backlight system, it is no slouch either. It uses a less capable Edge LED array, for that matter which is far inferior to what you’ll find in higher tier models like the Q80A with their FALD arrays. What does this mean? Well, instead of having those LEDs behind your screen, there is an array on top and bottom as well – making things even more evenly lit than some other 90 inch TV sets out there!

Brightness / Contrast

We all know that brightness is one of the most important aspects of any HDR TV nowadays with SDR content and even more so for high-quality HDR. For our review, we used Movie mode, Warm 2 color tone, along with max brightness to see how powerful this set was when it came to both types of media.

In our test over a 10% white window in standard definition (SDR), we got 581 nits which are bright enough for just about anything on an HD screen or lower resolution video source such as older DVDs, Blu Rays, etcetera – however, if you’re looking at 4K Ultra HD material then make sure your room has plenty light! When it comes to High Dynamic Range (HDR), there’s no higher quality.

Audio Quality

Samsung has tried to create audio systems that improve the overall sound signature of their flat TVs. Some fare better than others, but most are not suited for anything more than casual viewing. Samsung’s proprietary system, Object Tracking Sound, is tailored according to both which 90 inch TV you buy and how much it costs.

The Q70A is equipped with a 2.0 channels system with 20 watts of power, which isn’t quite enough to fill the space but can be used for small-scale listening sessions or if you’re not too concerned about high-quality audio output and just want something that sounds like it’s coming from all around your head.

The Object Tracking Sound Lite Audio System takes care of any tonal deficiencies by providing virtual surround sound so that even when playing music in mono mode, each note will feel crisper than ever before ma, king this the perfect option for those looking to improve their home theater setup without breaking up their tight budget!

Sony X91J

Sony X91J

Sony has always been the best in terms of TV technology. The A80J is just another example, as it combines what we know about OLED TVs all these years along with some new tech such as Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR to create a really interesting proposal without having to break your wallet.

The X90J 90 inch TV is no slouch in the display department, with Sony’s best processor and a full array backlight system. It also supports Dolby Vision for better color,s. At the same time, its 100/120 Hz refresh rate makes it an excellent choice for gamers who want buttery-smooth motion without any screen tearing.

Throw in HDMI 2.1 ports that are on par with what you’ll find on TVs from other major manufacturers like Samsung or LG, as well as Google TV OS powered by Chromecast and AirPlay support alongside voice control functionality–and we have ourselves one heck of a mid-tier unit!

Sony X90J 90 inch TV is an excellent choice for those who want a high-end television that does it all. With the ability to be calibrated with Netflix Calibrated Mode, IMAX Enhanced, and even have Calman Ready, this set will go well in any environment, whether you are watching sports or binge-watching your favorite show on Netflix.

Design

The set looks as expected from a TV of its price, good but nothing spectacular. In comparison to the X900H, their plastic look makes it feel cheaper than what it is, though. It features relatively thin borders. However, at 2-inches (5cm) thick and 7 inches (18 cm), there’s enough room for wall mounting without worry that you’ll have trouble using side-looking ports if mounted on your walls.

The new Sony X90J Blu-ray player has all the same ports and features as its predecessor, with a few subtle differences. They have kept everything in the same place but put it on a straight back panel to match their other products, which are part of the “XR” series.

Video Quality

The Sony X91J 90 inch TV is now equipped with an all-new chip that divides the screen into many sections to recognize individual items within each section much better than its predecessor could – this means clearer shots without any obstructions or blurs whatsoever. The updated version also can analyze over 400 000 various parts comprising pictures, including focus points.

The new processor for this 90 inch TV deals not only excellent picture quality but also all sound elements – it’s even included in Sony’s newest Sound Suite called “XR,” which does everything from matching audio precisely on-screen right down to creating an immersive 3D environment just by adding one more speaker.

Best 90 inch TV

Lighting technology

The X90J is a 90 inch TV that has the most intelligent light system on it. The Full Array with Local Dimming (FALD) means there are LED lights at the back of the display that divides into zones and can be controlled by software, making sure you get as much brightness in your favorite scenes.

This is when the FALD system really shines. It’s like having a lot of spotlights, with each one being able to individually dim and brighten without affecting its neighboring “spot.” Suppose you’re watching scenes in different environments.

In that case, this allows for more nuanced transitions between high-contrast content such as explosions or dark hallways vs. lighter settings such as forests at dawn or during warmer months after sunset where colors are richer. However, there isn’t quite so much contrast since it can be daytime outside while still inside due to the intelligent use of ambient light sensors.

Brightness / Contrast

Let’s take a look at our brightness measurements now. Using the Custom Picture mode and maximum brightness, we got 771 nits of luminosity in our 10% white window SDR test over a dark background. This is more than enough for any kind of material, so it passed! Keep in mind that you can go even higher by combining Vivid Mode settings. Still, picture accuracy suffers – it’s all tradeoffs really depending on what matters to you most!

The contrast ratio of the X80J was bad, and part of that was happening because it had an IPS-like panel. Thankfully, the X90J has a VA panel which means blacks are deeper with more nuance rather than appearing as greys. The Local Dimming feature for this TV does help to improve things even further, although not by much.

Audio Quality

To be honest, I really can’t believe how thin the Sony X80J 90 inch TV is given all of that power. Not only do you get 10 watts for each speaker, but there are two drivers in this 90 inch TV: one down-firing and one back 17mm tweeter-style, so it’s like little stereo speakers!

The good news is if DTS or Dolby Atmos soundtracks are important to you, then Sony has your back with their eARC port, which actually supports both formats – no need to worry about not having a converter box when watching some Blu-Ray discs now since everything sounds great on my new system.

Best 90 inch TV Buyers Guide

Screen Technology

There are three kinds of 90 inch TVs out there, and they each have their own strengths.

LED screens offer a bright display with excellent picture quality at an affordable price because it uses light-emitting diodes to backlight the screen.

OLED displays boast incredible contrast ratios for color accuracy as well as faster response times, preventing motion blur in high-speed scenes or quick action shots. Hence, you get all those tiny details your eye would’ve missed otherwise without sacrificing brightness–they’re also slim and lightweight!

Finally, QLED’s combine both features from LCDs (backlighting based on liquid crystals) that create deep blacks but still result in more power than LEDs, plus Quantum dot technology, which gives them vibrant colors with accurate detail rendering as no other TV can.

Screen Resolution

People who want a future-proofed TV should avoid going for 1080p and instead buy 4K TVs. These are more expensive but worth it in the long run because they have higher resolution, which means that you won’t need to upgrade your 90 inch TV as quickly when new content comes out or technology changes. You can even go all the way up to 8K if the price is not an issue at this point; only don’t expect much from 8k viewing just yet!

Refresh Rate

You know that when you’re watching a game or movie on your 90 inch TV, the refresh rate determines how smooth it looks. The higher the number goes (60Hz to 120Hz), the smoother and faster everything will look! But did you also know there’s something called interpolation?

That means if your television can’t display 60 frames per second in either direction, then some of those frames are going to be duplicates of one another so as not to make any frame lasts longer than 1/24th of a second at most. While this works fine for movies with their long scenes – who cares if two versions get shown side-by-side every once- but games need more accuracy because they require fast reflexes and split seconds count.

Sound Quality

You want to have the best sound experience while you are watching your 90 inch TV. When it comes down to TVs, you should look into a few things before buying one: what size do I need? What brand is better for my needs – Samsung or Sony maybe?

And most importantly, how can I enhance the audio features so that they work with me and not against me! A great way to improve your viewing pleasure (or displeasure, as we’ll be discussing) is by investing in some good quality speakers like Harman Kardon’s, which will provide excellent sounds such as powerful bass and crisp trebles without having any distortion whatsoever to your 90 inch TV. Especially if it has more wattage than average, then this speaker would make an excellent addition.

Look for a Smart TV

The best 90 inch TV for you is the one that will properly showcase your favorite shows and movies. You might think of smart TVs as a luxury. Still, they can actually be pretty useful to have in certain situations!

Makes it fun: The most important thing about any television -smart or not-is how well it displays what’s happening on screen.

Be sure before looking at anything else whether the picture quality suits your needs by examining its resolution (aspect ratio) pixel density, color accuracy/depth/fidelity, brightness level measured in candela per square meter), contrast levels (ratio between maximum displayable white luminance and minimum black luminance). Understanding these terms means knowing just which TV has been designed with you specifically in mind.

Inputs and Outputs

With all that 90 inch TV has come to offer, you may need external devices and wires. This is where inputs and outputs become important as they allow for connection of outside or external connections such as a DVD player, gaming console, etc., allowing you to display these on your screen through ports.

If any type of input device needs an output tone, then it’s also wise not only to think about how many but what types too; depending on if want them in HD (high definition) 4K (ultra-high-definition), 3D video games with surround sound audio systems connected wirelessly via Bluetooth headsets – so consider different options when picking out new TVs this year!

Accessories

Don’t forget to consider the accessories needed for your specific 90 inch TV to provide yourself with an optimal viewing pleasure, such as tv antenna on local channels. This way, before mounting a large screen TV, it would be helpful if prep work was done beforehand, like making sure electrical wires are out of sight so we can avoid frustrations when going through this procedure.

Before undertaking mountings on big screens TVs, there’s one important thing: get all those cables hidden away where they don’t show up – or else frustration won’t make us happy at later stages during installation.

Frequently Asked Questions for 90 Inch TV

Why you need a 90 inch TV?

You know the one thing you’ve always wanted? A gigantic 90 inch TV. It’s not a question of if, it’s when, and why can’t I have this now!? Seriously though, in our modern world, there is nothing better than kicking back on your couch with some Netflix to relax while scrolling through Instagram or Facebook for that perfect pic. But who wants another small screen when you could have something huge! Plus, they’re smart, so everything gets easier–all your favorite shows are at hand, as well as thousands of channels just waiting for you to binge-watch them all.

How heavy is a 90 inch TV?

Heavy, but not so heavy that it’s difficult to mount on the wall. To do this securely, you’ll need an adequately strong and anchored mounting bracket for your specific needs (which is different depending on how far away from the ground or ceiling). For example, if it’s mounted above eye level, then anchor brackets will be needed as well. Typically, these can hold up to 190 pounds of weight which should be enough unless you’re planning something crazy like putting in two sets side by side!

What is the lifespan of your TV panel?

The average LED TV is only expected to last for around 11 years. Maybe you should invest in a new one before they start decaying!

Today’s most common technologies are the LED, QLED, and OLED panels, with OLEDs being at their best quality, which lasts up to 100000 hours of true picture time or roughly 11 years after initial purchase – just like LEDs do when tuned down on contrast settings.

How many HDMI ports do you need?

The best way to ensure you don’t have any hiccups in your home entertainment is with four HDMI ports. Not only does it give a lot of room for expansion, but it gives you the option of never unplugging anything when switching equipment–just switch out cords.

Conclusion

The modern age of TV is coming to a close. We have been watching our favorite movies and shows on screens smaller than the ones we used in theatres for decades. Now, thanks to new innovations from Samsung like QLED technology that allow us all to enjoy immersive viewing no matter how far away you are sitting or standing by your screen, TVs are about as big as they’re going to get.

The best thing about the latest 90 inch TV is not their immersive viewing. It’s how you can watch from any distance without compromising your experience. With a sound system that ranges anywhere between 20W to 60W of power and smart features such as brilliant imagery and faster load times, these screens are all anyone needs in order to have an amazing time.
